International human rights law asserts the right of all peoples to self-determination. Choosing Independence in a referendum would be an act of self-determination by the Scottish people. The Scottish Government will negotiate with the UK Government, with detailed discussion of particular issues being carried out through appropriate representatives under overall ministerial responsibility on each side. |
