NUS has launched a new campaign "Reclaim Your Voice" for the 2011 Scottish Parliamentary Elections with 3 commitments from all candidates. We think they are pretty reasonably, indeed the SNP could have been asked to keep these commitments at the 2007 Scottish Elections! 1. No fees in Scotland "SNP students are happy to back the proposals NUS are putting forward as the next Parliament’s priorities for Further and Higher Education. The SNP Scottish Government has worked with the NUS to support Scotland's students over four years by scrapping the Graduate Endowment fee, pledging not to introduce tuition fees and, despite budget cuts, increasing college places and student support. These commitments would prioritise the welfare and education of students across Scotland and should be met by the next Parliament." - Gail Lythgoe, Convener of SNP Students A vote for the SNP in May will ensure that these commitments are prioritised and actually carried out by the only major party in the UK who believes in education without a price tag.
